ROOKIES STEALING THE SHOW |
San Fransico rookies Roman Hall,Tarik Fryer, and Baron Thomas have led the 49ers to an early 3-1 record to start the season.
Tarik fryer is a 6'7 277 outside linebacker who we drafted in the fourth round as a project, never thinking he would actualy see the playing field this season. Boy were we wrong! this beast has was recorded a sack in every game this season including three straight games with 2 sacks ( 7 total). He's also surpised us in the passing game, were he lacks in speed he makes up for in size creating difficult passing angles for the quarter back. Safety Barron Thomas is what we expected agianst the run, but leading the team in interceptions with 4 hes already exceeded expectations.
The Biggest surprise is rookie free agent middle linebacker Roman Hall, Who we basical got for nothing. hes stepped into a leadership role with 20 tackles 3 sacks and 2 fumble recovers. He shows a noise for the ball and you cant teach that its something a player is born with. |

the new look niners pass first test |
QB Joe Flacco got his first win as the new starter of the 49ers. he threw for 247 yards with 2 td's and no picks ( 98.8 RTNG). frank gore ran for 95 yards and back-up pierre thomas had 67 yards and a touchdown rushing and recieving.
the 49ers offseason moves seam to be working out as thier newly installed 3-4 defense has 4 rookie starters two at linebacker and both safety positions. rookie safety baron thomas led the team with 8 tackles and free agent rookie roman hall was second with 7 tackles and a sack. the bigest surpise of was 6'7 270 rookie outside linebacker Tarik fryer who had 5 tackles with two sacks, he also played the pass well when dropped back into coverage allowing zero catches and 2 deflections. |

49ers cutting dead wieght |
the 49ers were able to cut 16 million in salery and aquiring 2 more first round picks a second and recovered thier third round pick. The only player they hated to see go was patrick willis but they were able to get replacement Karlos Dansby while aquiring the 11th pick in the draft( we saw a move to improve our team and we didnt hesitate).
Wide Reciever Dan glenn was due to make 5 million this season and with a running team like ours we couldnt justify keaping a #2 WR making that much when thiers cheaper options out thier.
Vince young was do to make almost 7 million and being demoted to third string his days were numbered.
The 49ers were willing to take the cap hits since next year out of the 12 free agents only three will be resigned the rest are roster fillers. and in this draft they plan on filling those spots anyway. we now have 48 million in cap space with only nine roster spots to fill. The new management would like to establish some depth with this team. not have all the starters with these huge contracts so your bench suffers, were trying to strengthen our weakest link and get everyone on the same page |

Trouble in San Fran? |
After wk 12 the Niners sit in a 4 way tie in thier division at 5-6 but there seems to be trouble brewing in the locker room....
QB Peyton Manning isn't happy with the offense or the coach's playcalling and is talking about wanting out when asked he had the following to say...
" With me as the QB and the playmakers I have around me we should be way better then we are,I know we're doing our jibs, but don;t feel the coach is putting us in position to win enough"
When asked about the offseason he said "I don't know whats going on around here but it may be time for me to go to a team that will take advantage of my strengths, and not limit me like I feel is being done to me here.Next season is the last on my contract and I'd be willing to restructure it if put in the right situation"
When coach Kee was asked about Peytons remarks he replied....."He wants out? FUCK him he can go to whoever wants him" and walked away.
Will the Coach and QB resolve thier differences? or will there be major changes in Ninerland next season? winning usually makes these things go away but the way this team is heading we don't see that happening without a miracle or to involved. |

Niners even after 2 weeks |
SanFrancisco came into the year hoping to improve on offense and so far so good.
After 2 weeks we sit at 1-1,first we lost a close game to the Cards on a 52yd FG with 3 seconds left in the game, then in week 2 pulled off the upset of the Bears with a 52yd FG of our own.
Defense is struggling some right now but hoping that turns around,On offense is the biggest difference.Peyton Manning and Coach Kee worked together in the offseason trying to revamp the offensive production from last year,Manning was upset about his totals last year with only 16tds and 18ints. After two games he has 4tds and 3ints we know on this team he'll never cut the int numbers down but hopefully the td's will increase.
With the addition of rookie WR Bubba Payton and Calvin Johnson from the Lions TE vernon Davis is hoping to see a few less double teams as teams have to account for the WR's for a change.
Peyton is hoping this leads to a better season for him, since next year is the last on his contract and he's looking to get it restructured next offseason or possibly go to a new team, but a good season will definatly help him either way. |
