Dolphins aquire Brady from their East rival Patriots |
The Miami Dolphins went right up to the trade deadline before the draft and landed veteran QB Tom Brady from their east rival Patriots. The Dolphins have been playing QB carousel since the 2022 which now feel a better chance with Brady. Another surprise was the signing of Veteran QB Scott Aldridge who was released by the packers for cap room. Miami had tried to deal for Aldridge last season but it never went thru. Can Aldridge compete with Brady for the starting job is going to be Miami's preseason challenge. In the mist of it all QB Strickland is learning fast and what a delight to have 2 solid veterans coach him thru his progression.
Miami drafted the first FB McGrath in this draft which was scouted as a top 2nd round pick and fell right into Miami's lap with the 1st pick in the 3rd round. This guy is an instant starter with great potential on run and pass blocking. "83ovrl player in the 3rd round is a steal" GM I-Rod was quoted.
On the other side of the ball is the defense who came into the off-season with some question marks on the secondary level. Dolphins went out looking for another veteran CB and landed Drayton Florence from the Jags for a 3rd round pick which instantly helped the aging Will Allen to the nickel spot. Dolphins also acquired DT Tank Tyler from the Cowboys for a 2nd and GM I-Rod was pushing hard for this guy to be the anchor at nose tackle in the 3-4 formation which now seems to fit the puzzle with DE Trapp along the right side rushing the passer who came over on the Shockey trade to Seattle.
A high octane offense with a sound defense should have the Dolphins back in the thick of things come Play-Off time. |

Miami Packs it in for the Offseason |
The Dolphins locker room was quite and only player left sitting on the side was WR Ginn who still pondering on the costly fumble in last nights game vs the Chargers.
Shockey was quoted on his way out "we just came up short and had every shot at winning the game but WE the TEAM gave it our all"..
Miami will head into the offseason on a high note with hopes of plucking 2 drafts picks early to bolster the defense come next season and return to smash mouth football. |

The Miami Dolphins are a top of their division mid way thru the season. With 7 games left, 5 at home they look to close out the season winning the East with 4 in division games left. HB Little has shown his leadership with 1300+ yards and 9 TD's after 9 games.
QB Reese has struggled but the new spread offense has shown signs of what he was brought here for and will continue to make better judgment when throwing the ball. |

Miami gets by New England for it's first win |
The Miami Dolphins visited their old rivals up north and show cased the talented young defense which held the pats to 2 scores on broken plays. QB Reese waisted no time lighting up the score board with 3 TD's and HB Little grinded out 99 yards on the ground. Overall the coach's we're pleased though the offense needs a bit more spark and the offense needs to settle down on miscue plays.
Dolphins look at 5 more road games before opening up at home week 7. |
